Motorcycle carburettor

Carburetors have gradually been replaced by injection systems. Nevertheless, today's motorcycle fleet includes many carbureted machines. That's why Ixtem Moto offers you all the parts and maintenance products you need to clean and adjust your carburetors.

Motorcycle carburetors: what are they used for?

Carburetion is the phenomenon that occurs in the carburetor when air and fuel mix. It's this process that gives your engine the energy it needs to power your machine. As you can see, the carburetor is an essential part of your motorcycle, and in particular of your two-stroke or four-stroke engine.

How does it work?

Each time you accelerate, more air enters the carburetor, carrying fuel with it. Conversely, when you release the throttle, the air in the carburettor decreases, slowing the flow of fuel and thus slowing down your machine.

When should you change your motorcycle carburettor?

Your carburetor can become clogged in various places, which can damage your motorcycle. It can also jam or seize up. Here are a few symptoms that can alert you to the wear and tear of your carburetor.

  • Your motorcycle loses power

  • You feel jerking when you ride,

  • Your engine has trouble starting and stalls regularly.

How can you extend the life of your carburetor?

At Ixtem Moto, we recommend regular maintenance of your motorcycle, and that includes the carburetor. Clean it with the right products, and check its setting to ensure that the fuel mixture complies with the manufacturer's specifications. In our catalog, you'll find all the accessories and spare parts you need for your carburetor: fuel pump, motorcycle choke , valve, gas pedal cable...
