What are motorcycle filters for?

The three main filters fitted to your motorcycle are vital to keeping your machine running smoothly. They are there to filter out particles and prevent them from reaching your engine and causing damage. That's why it's essential to check them regularly, and replace them if they become worn or clogged.

The air filter

Prevents outside particles from entering the engine and provides it with the oxygen it needs to run smoothly.

Oil filter

Prevents impurities in the oil from entering the engine and wearing out moving parts.

Fuel filter

Prevents impurities and other contents of gasoline from entering your fuel injection or carburetor.

When should I change my motorcycle filters?

Each manufacturer has its own recommendations for filter service life. Replacement depends on your usage, the number of kilometers you ride and whether or not you regularly maintain your motorcycle. In general, when you change your oil, look at your filters and check their condition.
