If you don't have a stand for cross-country bikes, or a center stand for trails and enduros, a motorcycle lift is an essential accessory. It allows you to work with complete peace of mind, in complete safety. A simple tire change or chain lubrication can become complicated without a motorcycle lift worthy of the name.

Frequently asked questions
Here are the most frequently asked questions to help you choose your motorcycle equipment, helmet or accessory.
-
Motorcycle lift for road bikes or maxi-trailers?
For a road bike or maxi-trailer, it's best to use a rear stand for routine maintenance. You can also add a front stand for work on the front of the bike. The result is a straight, well-balanced bike. For bigger jobs, or if you do a lot of mechanical work, the ideal solution is to invest in a lifting table.

Motorcycle lift
There are different types of motorcycle lifts. They can be mechanical or hydraulic, to make lifting your motorcycle easier. Motorcycle lifts also include stools or tripods, which enable you to lift the wheels off the ground and work easily on the cycle. The motorcycle lift is fitted under the hoof of the motorcycle. So it's essential to have one.
Some lifts can be folded up for transport to the paddock. On our site, you'll also find motorcycle lifts with a hole in the center. This will enable you to change your oil more easily.
Please note, however, that the weight of the vehicle must be taken into account. Cross bike lifts generally have a maximum lifting capacity of 160 kg. That's not enough to lift a trail bike. You'll have to go for motorcycle models that can support weights of up to 500 kg.
Motorcycle lift or stand, which to choose?
On a big trail bike, I tend to install a center stand directly on the bike. This makes maintenance easier. A traditional motorcycle lift will rarely support more than 200 kg. If you're not keen on the center stand, you can invest in workshop stands. You'll need 2: one for the front if you want to remove the wheel, and one for the rear.
Hydraulic or manual motorcycle lift?
Hydraulic lifts are more comfortable, but not essential. If you opt for a hydraulic motorcycle lift, choose a quality model to avoid disappointment. The heavier your bike, the more useful it will be to opt for a hydraulic version. That way, you won't be exhausted before you've even started servicing your bike.
What about safety?
All IXTEM MOTO products comply with the NF standard. It would be a shame to drop your motorcycle because your lift is of poor quality. Respect the maximum weight indicated by the manufacturer.
