How can I correct a wrong speed on my motorcycle speedo?
Changing your original gearbox output sprocket for a smaller version, for example, will alter the speed on the speedometer. It's estimated that one tooth less on a PSB will distort your speed by 5 to 7%!
You can also alter your speed by changing the size of your wheel, or sometimes just the size of your tires.

The odometer on your motorcycle speedometer lets you know how many kilometers you've covered, so you can measure the wear and tear on your bike. It can also be used to set the right intervals for servicing or replacing certain parts.
Motorcycle speedometers vary in sophistication depending on the bike. They range from simple needle-type meters to full-colour "tablets" displaying a wide range of information: gear engaged, ABS and traction control functions activated or not, oil or outside temperature, etc.

Can a motorcycle speedometer be repaired?
In the case of traditional speedometers, the fault often lies in the damaged speedometer cable. It is therefore possible to order an adaptable cable. On some older machines, manufacturers have stopped producing them. We'll have to look at each case individually.
The fault may also come from the speedo drive unit inside the wheel of your motorcycle. This component can also be replaced.
