Motorcycle clutch

Clutch system, what's it for?

The clutch system is essential for shifting gears when you're on the move. It's the clutch that connects your engine to the transmission, allowing you to conserve power. But your clutch is constantly rubbing as you shift gears, and wear is inevitable.

When should you change your motorcycle clutch?

When your motorcycle clutch reaches the end of its life, you should quickly notice. Difficulty shifting gears, resistant clutch, regular stalling, slipping... These are all symptoms that your system isn't working properly and needs to be changed.

How can I extend the life of my clutch?

While the life of your clutch depends on the way you drive and shift gears, there are a few tricks you can follow to extend the life of your system. To avoid having to change your clutch too often and limit its wear, Ixtem Moto recommends regular maintenance:

  • Change your engine oil regularly,

  • Set your clutch lever correctly to avoid permanent engagement.

  • Avoid multiple hard starts or high revs.

  • When riding off-road, especially in mud or uphill, avoid slipping your clutch, which will heat up and melt like butter.

On our website, you'll find a wide range of products to help you maintain your two-wheeler.

REKLUSE automatic clutch

Our range also includes REKLUSE motorcycle clutches, which automatically disengage the clutch as soon as you stop. You won't be able to stall your bike. Widely used in enduro riding, you'll now find these clutches on Harley Davidsons, road bikes and trail bikes. The comfort of use is undeniable. At Ixtem Moto, we offer you a wide choice of spare parts for your motorcycle's clutch. Choose from leading brands such as EBC, Athena, Polini, Tecnium, Newfren and many others. You can opt to buy the parts separately, or keep things simple with one of our clutch kits, which include everything you need to change your motorcycle clutch. Poor shifting is not necessarily the sign of a faulty clutch. First of all, check that your clutch cable is not seized or check and/or change your clutch fluid if it is hydraulic.
